The second show I am going to create for 21TV, is a beauty related one. I have chosen to call it 'Make Me Up'.
Ruth and I had already decided that beauty was going to be one of the main genres of programme for 21TV, as it is an area of which most young ladies are interested in.
Inspired by the likes of Gok Wan, 10 years Younger and the youtube beauty craze, I have come up with 'Make Me Up'.
This programme will have a celebrity make-up artist host, who will give girls from our target audience age group dramatic, yet natural make-overs, whilst giving out professional tips and tricks. As the teenage/young adult years can be a problematic time for females' skin, this show is aimed to help boost confidence and allow viewers to see first hand the best ways to get that flawless face.
Although there are certain people on youtube that make videos similar to idea, there is nothing on the television quite like this show, which is why I thought it would be something new for 21TV to introduce.
Not only will there be make-overs, but helpful bits of information for viewers such as; which colour eyeshadow is best suited to your eye colour and how to contour and highlight correctly. This could increase the viewing figures, as it would also attract viewers outside of the target age group.
I got my mum to take a couple of photographs using my digital camera of myself and my friend for the image that will be used on the website to promote the show. Out of the images taken, these three were the ones I felt were most suitable.
Completed Image
In the end I chose the image of the host and a show participant with a plain background and holding make-up products. This allows the viewers to see clearly what the show is about, and who the celebrity host/make-up artist is.
To create this image, I cropped the photograph to contain just the main focus; the host of the show and the participant, holding makeup products. I added a thin border and the title of the show 'Make Me Up' at the top of the image. For this show I have used more of a baby-pink to represent the theme of the programme and that it is one of the channels more 'girly' shows.
I have chosen to use this girly, floral font as previously mentioned, it is one of the more 'girly' shows, and I felt this font reinforced this to the audience.
